Choosing an Air -conditioner

Disclaimer : My own research ..

First - Most of the ac brands use various compressors from other brands than their own . Eg. panasonic uses samsung , highly compressors . LG uses GMCC ,Bluestar uses SIAM compressors .Whirlpool uses Panasonic , Highly compressors . General uses tecumseh compressors as well .This is just limited research on my part . Most of the companies use whatever compressor is avaliable . A link regarding replacement of compressor for videocon ac .

Second point - I have seen many know-all types on various forums , especially Team-BHP likes recommend 5 star rated ones or inverter rated ones . Just because an AC is rated 5 star energy efficient it does not mean it is a good one .. sometimes the opposite might be true . The reason being a compressor is basically an electric motor and for the motor to draw lower current either the windings have to be thinner or the motor must be rated at 220v and not 230v mains . If the motor achieves peak operation at 220v it becomes more efficient . To illustrate the point let me point out a link to samsung compressor specs

Samsung makes 2 types of compressors for R22 refrigerant rated at 50HZ .

In both the pages if you look for UR8B180DU & UR8B180JH you will be surprised that the 220v rated one consumes less power and the wide operating voltage tropical compressor rated at 220-240v consumes more power for the same piston displacement .

Personally I would recommend avoiding any ac with samsung compressor because the windings are aluminium and not copper . I know this because the scrap merchants avoid samsung because of the aluminium windings .

Reason why most of the established brands have 2 star and 1 star rating for their AC is because the compressor is made heavier and is more fail proof than their 5 star counterparts . Laws of physics cannot be changed . The 5 star rated ac will have a lower power consuming compressor more prone to failures .

Third - Walk into an ac retailing shop and you will find that the marketing guys will tell you about copper condensor and evaporator coils . This is especially true for Onida ac . The point that most of them miss is the thickness of the tubing wall  inside the condensor or evaporator coil . The thinner the tube the more it is prone to puncture . A car condensor or evaporator coil is made of aluminium alloy and yet it can run for years in a harsher environment than in a home ac . Material does not matter .. implementation matters a lot .

lastly , inverter ac unless it is meant for 24/7 running like an ATM booth or an office does not warrant the higher initial expenditure . An inverter ac runs continuously and a non-inverter runs at intervals . So a continuous power draw of 200-300w vs 1700w for a non-inverter equalises it all .. The energy required to convert heat to cold or cold to heat remains almost the same . Physics ..

Mosque is not a religious place and can be demolished any time

 At one point of time , I was in awe of Dr Subramaniam swamy . I even met him briefly at his residence near Mylapore . That was about 15 years ago .

A good 15 years backmost of them were of  the opinion that Dr. Swamy was an agent of the CIA and Mossad .
For me , it did not matter as I was more concerned about corruption , and I felt that Dr. Swamy was a crusader for corruption .

Now , 15 years later , Dr Swamy speaks "Mosque is not a religious place and can be demolished any time " .

Actually for the last couple of years I have been disillusioned by the ways and methods of Dr. Swamy, the reason being

1. He is not a leader . He is more of a one man personality who cannot lead people . Case in point is - He had to dissolve his party and join the BJP due to lack of supporters or voters .

2. Every meeting of his has him speaking about muslims and christians , which are not necessary .

His speeches are aimed at creating discord between the hindus and the minorities rather than promote harmony . Now this is a clear case of "divide and rule " policy of the west and nothing else but it .
Indians  - you are being mind controlled , played with your feelings , you will get angry , try to establish "reasoning on facebook " but being too critical makes one slowly surrender to the ways of the controller because you tend to take sides of the coin and not see the coin as a whole

imports killing Indian business

Below is the current account balance in trade for a list of countries published by the CIA .Going through the list we can thus understand how good India's exports have been over the years .Politicians will lie , about India shining , bloggers will tell you that India will be the next super power . None of that is going to happen unless and until we have a policy of encouraging local manufacture , investments in research and technology and the ability of the Indians to look beyond a "safe" job and "comfortable " living .

A simple example would be - Imported chinese scissors are sold in India from Rs. 15 to Rs. 200 .
The actual cost of importing a Rs .15 scissors works out to Rs 3 . Added to that we have a customs duty and the cost of the final product until it reaches the wholesaler is Rs .7 . Now the product is passed on to the Retailer or shop keeper in your friendly neighbourhood for Rs. 10 and the shopkeeper sells it for Rs . 15 to you .

Now if the same product was produced in India it would cost exactly the same , probably the same as cost of the product from China plus the import duty , but no one would want to manufacture it . The reason being the lower level business do not receive any favours from the government like exemption of taxes , labour laws , power issues .

If someone does want to venture out boldly he miserably loses out due to social , economic pressures and eventually has to sell everything to settle his /her debts

Meaning of secularism

My forefathers have been magnanimous ,wise and it makes me really proud . Even though India was divided on communal lines and the countries of pakistan , bangladesh and srilanka were created by the british , yet our fathers and forefathers chose to keep the country secular and provide equal rights for all minorities . No one is discriminated on the lines of religion or caste . The constitution guarantees it and that is what our forefathers pledged to keep this great nation the fabric , spirit intact.
Please understand India does not need Hindus ,minorities , castes , religion . It is the people who need India .
Idol worship is as good as or as bad as idolized worship . The choice is freely available to anyone in India .
